Last chance animal action event

Willenhall Animal Action Event

The RSPCA Coventry, Nuneaton & District Branch are back out in force in Coventry for the last animal action day of the year at the Haggard Centre, Willenhall, CV3 3DG on Tuesday 28th May 2013 from 12 – 6pm.

Coventry Cats Protection, Coventry Cat Group and Easipetcare will be joining forces with the RSPCA offering Free Micro chipping for all pets, Free Neuter vouchers for cats and low cost neuter vouchers for dogs and rabbits (conditions apply) along with super low cost Vaccinations .

The charities have already run two animal action days in Nuneaton and Coventry at which hundreds of pets and owners have taken advantage of these great offers.

Glenn Mayoll, Animal Centre Manager for the RSPCA says ‘Micro chipping is a great way of ensuring you are reunited with your pet if they are lost or stolen. Every year the charities are hit with hundreds of animals which may have owners but have no hope in tracing them without some sort of identification. Micro chipping gives us that opportunity to reunite pets with owners and with the government making plans that all dogs will have to micro chipped in the next few years it’s the perfect time to take advantage of these offers’

Micro chipping is a brilliant and extremely effective way of being reunited with your pet if they were to get lost. However, worryingly only 13% of the 1000 plus dogs that the Coventry City Council and the RSPCA Coventry & Nuneaton Animal Centre took in during 2011 were chipped.

Vaccination and Neuter Vouchers will also be the order of the day at the event as the charities battle the continued increase in animals needing there help through over breeding and the rise in some preventable diseases like Parvo a deadly disease affecting dogs. Many owners are skipping the routine vaccinations designed to help protect the beloved pets which has seen a stark increase in these diseases across the city.

All of the charities would love to see as many pets and people along at the events, the doors will be open from 11am to 6pm and everyone is welcome.

For more information please call the RSPCA Coventry & Nuneaton Animal Centre on 024 76 336616 alternatively come along on the day with your pet.
