The Lonely Heart's Club

Six of Coventry’s loneliest hearts are appealing for love this Valentines after being in Kennels since the autumn of 2012.

The four legged gang have been residing at the RSPCA Coventry & Nuneaton Animal Centre on Coundon Wedge Drive in Coventry in the desperate hope to be picked and find new loving homes. However up to now they just haven’t found anyone that wants to love them.

The six dogs Jack, Coco, Zeus, Tess, Lizzy and Bubbles are all stunning dogs of all types and sizes and desperately need loving new homes.

Natasha Holt Kennel Animal Care Assistant says ‘We say it too often but we have no idea why these lovely dogs haven’t found new homes yet. They are beautiful temperaments and would be suitable to a variety of homes, we urge anyone thinking of getting a dog to come and visit us’.

The animal centre on Coundon wedge has seen a slow decrease of the number of dogs being rehomed and is desperate for members of the public considering a new dog to come to the centre. The numbers of animals needing to come into the centre is only increasing but the centre is entirely reliant on adopters to make room for new arrivals.

The lonely hearts in desperate need for new home and love this Valentine’s Day are:

Jack who is handsome 10mth old staffie x lab, he really is a lovely boy and enjoys lots of fuss and grooming from the staff at the centre. Jack could live with children 8 years plus but needs to be the only pet in the household.

Coco who is a proper little staffie was rescued from a life of being used a puppy making machine she is 6 years old. Coco is a lovely trusting dog who is very affectionate and walks lovely on the lead. She can live with children from 8 years and upwards possibly younger if they are used to having dogs.

Zeus is a 2 year old Husky who was transferred to us to find a new home from another RSPCA Centre. He is a very lively boy full of energy and very inquisitive; in fact he is very typical of his breed. Zeus needs an owner experienced with this breed or similar, and able to cope with the challenges that may incur. Zeus is a well behaved boy but needs clear boundaries and rules setting in his new home. He is looking for an adult only home where he can be the only pet to receive 100% attention, he will need experienced owners who can give him clear direction and training he needs.

Bubble’s is a very sweet Labrador X who is around 6-7 years old. Bubble’s really doesn’t deserve to be in kennels and finds the whole experience quite scary. She can appear quite nervous until she gets to know somebody, but once she has your trust then she is very loyal and loveable dog enjoying lots of fuss and attention. She knows all of her basic commands and walks well on the lead. We are looking for a calm family home for Bubbles with children from around 8 years and up, ideally the children would be used to having dogs around in the home. She needs a loving home and owners who will give her the time to build her trust in people and we are sure the rewards will be endless for both once she is given that chance.

Lizzy is our larger than life German Shepherd Cross who is around 2 years old and desperately looking for a perfect new home. Lizzy is a lively girl with lots of energy to burn so she will need a new family who can give her lots of exercise and spend time playing with her. Lizzy has had very little in the way of training and can be very full on when meeting other dogs; she would need to be the only dog but may be ok with a suitably energetic companion. Lizzie could live with children aged 10 years plus possibly younger if they are used to living with big dogs.

Tess is a lovely X breed who is around 18 months old; Tess was abandoned by her previous owners and left wandering the streets as a stray. This beautiful girl is a really affectionate girl and has a good grasp of her basic commands. She is finding kennel life quite difficult and desperately needs to be in a new home as soon as possible. Tess gets on well with most other dogs so could possibly live with another dog in the family. Tess could live with children aged 8 plus.

Anyone who is interested in adopting one of our lonely hearts can visit the centre on Coundon Wedge Drive which is open every day except Tuesday from 11am – 4pm. Alternatively call the centre on 024 76 336616 or visit the website
